Alternate multi-user pricing model?

I’m evaluating Zeitkapsl for sharing family photos. In that scenario, storage requirements would be relatively low (the 50GB tier would likely be sufficient pretty much forever), but I would like to share albums with several people, some of which should probably have write access (see my other question). When you only need a fraction of the capacity, the “extended” tier feels pretty expensive though, and >5 users isn’t even an option.

Out of curiosity: Is there a technical reason for tying the price to the user count, or is that just an additional, mostly arbitrary point of separation between the tiers?

    If you just want to share, you can do that with anybody, they don’t need an account with us. You can also allow uploads to collect photos from friends and family. They don’t even need to install the app, this works directly from the Browser.

      Ah thanks, I’ll contact support then.

      But just for the sake of clarity, in case anybody else is reading this: It’s not that much about sharing photos after specific events; that’s already solved by other tools, or just a messaging app like Signal.
      The idea here is setting up the app for less tech-savvy folks on their devices, giving them very simple and frictionless access to a structured photo library that can grow over time without the hassle of sharing links every time.

      On that note: Props for making the app as clean and simple as it is! I hope keeping it like that is an ongoing design goal :) (this was a key point that disqualified Ente for my purposes)
